The Tilly Boulanger Foundation

Established to honor the life and spirit of Tilly Boulanger, The Tilly Boulanger Foundation (TBF) will support a variety of activities related to Tilly’s favorite things.

In April of 2022, the TBF dedicated the Tilly Trail along a portion of the Trail Around Middlebury near where Tilly went to camp. TBF also supported the Read-A-Thon at Middlebury’s Mary Hogan Elementary School later in the year.

In April of 2023, a Little Free Library will be inaugurated at the north end of the Tilly Trail. This addition to the trail is particularly fitting as Tilly was a voracious reader who loved trading books with her pals.

There are a few more things in the works that will be shared as soon as they are finalized.

Celebrating Tils

Dedicated in April of 2022, The Tilly Trail is located in Weybridge, VT, on a one mile portion of the Middlebury Area Land Trust’s (MALT) Trail Around Middlebury (TAM) loop. It can be accessed at either trail head on Morgan Horse Farm Road.

The Trail is a beautiful section of woods that teems with ephemerals in the spring, provides welcome shade in the summer, fabulous fall colors and opportunities to unknowingly wander off trail in the snowy winter. Tilly’s mischievous smile and quick laugh come right back with a child like jump to tap the colorful trail signs.

On April 25, 2019, we lost Tilly at age 9 when she was struck by a car. We miss her every day and do our best to give back to the community that continues to support us.
